Archive homepage visual research
These are the photos I found in GLOBE website and I used them in creating the Archive home page:
This Blue Earth from the link that the tutor gave us for free designs:
GLOBE Archive sketches
Here are my sketches for GLOBE archive. It will be an archive instead of the timeline.
This is the main page of the archive which contains four suctions (Annual Conferences, GLOBE Learning Expeditions (GLE), GLOBE Countries and Training workshops) in the layout of archive cupboards:
When the user rollover on any section a text appears introducing the content of the section to the user. Then the user should click on the handel to open each archive:
To know about any title in the archive click on it and a window with a several tabs will appear with the information:Wednesday, 12 March 2008
Visual Research
I carried out some visual research for existing interactive games which are all related to the envirinment and i found several results as shown below.
Designs for the menu page
For the menu i will be creating a globe which will be animating in 3d as demonstrated in the image i will be modeling a globe in 3Ds max and will apply the correct materials to this to make it look as realistic as possible.
I will be creating character in 3Ds max like the one demonstrated above to rotate around the globe
This is how the character will look alongside the globe.
I will be having six characters around the globe as we will be having six different sections so each character will be a section
This is just a different angle of the design which will all be modelled in 3Ds max.

Research for interactive timeline idea
Iam not satisfied with the level of interactivity in the recent idea of the timeline. Therefore, I did a research on interactive timelines to have a new idea for interactivity and I found these two timelines which I hope to use similar ideas in our product:
I hope to achive somthing like this in demonstating the Annual Conferences of Globe.

I want to use the same idea in deviding the timeline into: Annual Conferences, Globe Learning Expeditions, Countries joined Globe and Training workshops.

Working on Microsoft Project
The Microsoft Project is a totally new application for me, however, I get used to it easily with the tutor help and I'm rotating updating the Gantt chart in it with Fatima (my group mate).
Here are some screenshots which I print while I was updating the Gantt chart for week 6:
We keep the updated tasks in red to define them, and the tick on the left shows the completion of the task with 100%, you can notice here that the tasks under preparing for the progress presentation uncompleted yet.
When I update the Gantt chart I made these tasks 100% completed py clicking on the square and changing the percentage:
The black line shows the percentage of completing the tasks:
The lines between the blue bars shows the tasks independences:
After baselining the chart the bars devided in two. A gray bar shows the orginal task and a blue bar shows the tracking while the percentage of progress appears on the right:

The developed 2nd idea for timeline
This is the 2nd idea for the timeline, still in progress. The years on the stairs are buttons to lead to the information for each year. The Blue Earth will be a button as well to lead to information about countries joining Globe in each year.

3D stairs for Timeline
The idea was to have the years as buttons on the stairs to reflect the development of the company through the years:
